On a spring evening in Boston, the life of Israel Mayhew, a 26-year-old Black man from Dorchester, was tragically cut short. On May 19, 2020, Mayhew was at a playground in the Hyde Park neighborhood when gunfire erupted. The shooting left him fatally wounded and also injured a woman who was with him.
