In the early morning hours of June 30, 2018, the summer air in Boston's Brighton neighborhood was shattered by the sound of gunfire. When police arrived at the scene on Faneuil Street, they discovered two young men, 27-year-old Jeffrey Montaque of Cambridge and 26-year-old Wilfred Peters of Brighton, suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. Both men were pronounced dead at the scene. The shooting was believed to have been a targeted attack.
