In the early morning hours of February 20, 2022, the life of 36-year-old Verlon Tyler Weahkee, a male, was irrevocably altered on a street in southeastern Albuquerque. Emergency services received a call reporting a shooting with injuries at 2715 Kathryn Ave. SE and dispatched officers and rescue personnel to the scene. Upon their arrival, they found Weahkee suffering from gunshot wounds. He was immediately transported to the University of New Mexico Hospital for medical treatment.
