In the early hours of Memorial Day, May 28, 2012, a burst of violence in an Aurora, Colorado parking lot cut short the life of 23-year-old Harris Obed Donker. The shooting erupted outside the duRoss Lounge, where a chaotic scene was already unfolding as employees sought police assistance with an unruly crowd. Before officers could arrive, shots were fired, and Donker sustained a fatal gunshot wound. He was rushed to a local hospital where he was pronounced dead.
