On the morning of May 21, 1981, the life of 53-year-old Calvin Castleberry, a Black male known to his friends and family as 'Sarge,' was cut short by an act of violence in Denver, Colorado. Officers from the Denver Police Department were dispatched to the 2600 block of Welton Street following a report of a shooting.
