In the early morning hours of August 9, 2021, the life of Donald Shields Jr., a 30-year-old Black / African American man, was tragically cut short in his Las Vegas apartment. Police were dispatched to a residence on the 4800 block of East Tropicana Avenue, near Nellis Boulevard, around 8:35 a.m. following a report. Upon their arrival, they discovered Shields deceased at the scene, having suffered from what was described as apparent trauma.
