In the early evening of September 21, 2020, tragedy struck in the Deanwood neighborhood of Northeast Washington, D.C. Cimerron Kennedy, a 29-year-old male, found his life cut short in a violent encounter. At approximately 6:08 p.m., officers from the Sixth District of the Metropolitan Police Department were dispatched to the 3500 block of Jay Street, N.E., following reports of a shooting. Upon their arrival, they discovered Kennedy suffering from a gunshot wound.
