In the early morning hours of March 30, 2015, a tragedy unfolded in the Brightwood neighborhood of Northwest Washington, D.C., that cut short the life of 34-year-old Antonio Ayala. A Hispanic man known for his kind spirit and jovial attitude, Ayala was found shot near the intersection of 13th and Van Buren Streets, NW, at approximately 2:36 a.m. The quiet of the pre-dawn hours was shattered by the violence that left him fatally wounded.
