On the evening of March 9, 2018, police in Saint Paul, Minnesota, responded to a call on Cottage Avenue East. Inside the residence, they discovered 18-year-old Hispanic female Eileen Viveros-Vargas with a gunshot wound to the head. Her 19-year-old boyfriend, Luis Isaac Chacon-Villeda, was performing CPR when officers arrived. Paramedics pronounced Viveros-Vargas dead at the scene. At the time of her death, Viveros-Vargas was five months pregnant with a boy, and the unborn child did not survive.
