In the early morning hours of December 26, 2016, a celebration at an after-hours party inside the Vybe Lounge on West Broadway in Louisville, Kentucky, turned into a scene of violence that claimed the life of 22-year-old Monquel Ligon. An altercation broke out at the club, leading to a shooting that left Ligon and another man wounded. The incident occurred just after 5 a.m., and when police arrived, they found both victims with gunshot wounds.
Both men were rushed to University Hospital.
