In the late summer of 2016, the life of Victor Villagomez-Duarte, a 24-year-old Hispanic man, was cut short in a violent encounter in Lexington, Kentucky. On the morning of September 5th, outside a Microtel Inn on Buena Vista Road, Villagomez-Duarte was shot in the right shoulder.
