In the spring of 2016, a dispute over rent tragically escalated, leading to the death of Shane Michael McCain, a 43-year-old male from Louisville, Kentucky. On May 16, 2016, McCain, who owned several rental properties, went to an address in the 2300 block of Griffiths Avenue to collect rent money from his tenant. An altercation occurred, during which McCain was shot multiple times. He was transported to University Hospital, where he ultimately succumbed to his injuries.
