On a summer evening in Vancouver, Washington, on July 29, 2014, the life of 44-year-old Scott M. Gross, a Caucasian male, was cut short in a violent encounter. Authorities responded to a report of gunshots at a residence in the 200 block of Northwest 94th Street just before 11 p.m. Inside the home, they discovered Gross, who had sustained a fatal gunshot wound.
