On a late spring evening in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, the life of Acie Lee Smith, a 44-year-old Black man, was cut short by gun violence. On May 31, 2021, in the vicinity of 27th and McKinley, an argument escalated to a fatal conclusion, leaving Smith with a mortal gunshot wound. The circumstances surrounding the dispute that led to the shooting remain publicly undisclosed.
