On a late spring evening in Moorhead, Mississippi, the life of 24-year-old Dewayne Jacquarious Gray, Jr. was brought to a violent and tragic end. On the night of May 25, 2022, on Washington Avenue, Gray was shot multiple times. The Sunflower County Coroner was called to the scene at approximately 10:31 p.m. and pronounced him dead. Gray was a Black male and a resident of Moorhead.
