In the spring of 2022, a 30-year-old woman named Angie Renee Smith became a victim of the increasing violence in Jackson, Mississippi. On March 15th, she was driven to Merit Health Central by an unidentified person, suffering from several gunshot wounds to her upper body. Despite the efforts of medical staff, Smith was pronounced dead upon her arrival at the hospital.
