In the evening hours of December 21, 2021, in Columbus, Mississippi, the life of 22-year-old Lamaceo L. Smith was tragically cut short. Authorities received a call about shots being fired near the Columbus Heights apartments at approximately 7:35 p.m. Upon arrival, they discovered Smith lying in the roadway, having sustained a fatal gunshot wound to the chest. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
