In the spring of 2020, a fatal encounter at a local car wash cut short the life of Anthony Pierre Blackmore, a 32-year-old Black man from Jackson, Mississippi. The incident unfolded late on the night of April 23rd in the 3200 block of Lynch Street. What began as a simple argument between Blackmore and another individual escalated with tragic suddenness, ending in gunfire. When the Jackson Police Department arrived at the scene, they found Blackmore had been fatally shot.
