Anthony R. Welch, a 19-year-old man, was tragically shot and killed on May 15, 2010, in Chicago, Illinois. His death occurred on the South Side, in an area heavily affected by gun violence. The shooting that took Welch's life also injured another individual. Welch was among many young people caught in the violence that continues to plague Chicago, especially in neighborhoods where gang-related activity is prevalent.
