In the early morning hours of May 18, 2016, the life of ShayLa Glunk, a 29-year-old female, was tragically cut short in Newark, New Jersey. Her body was discovered on Brunswick Street near Astor at approximately 5:09 a.m. She had been shot, and authorities pronounced her dead at the scene. The Essex County Prosecutor's Office Homicide/Major Crimes Task Force, in conjunction with the Newark Police Department, immediately began an investigation into her death.
