In the summer of 2015, the life of 18-year-old Sharod T. Jefferson, a Black male from East Orange, New Jersey, was tragically cut short. On the evening of July 25th, at approximately 9:40 p.m., police were flagged down by bystanders on Dodd Street. There, they discovered Jefferson unresponsive and lying on a lawn.
