In the light of a spring afternoon, on May 4, 2014, Alexander Toledo, a 27-year-old man, was fatally shot in Newark, New Jersey. The incident occurred around 1 p.m. in the 200 block of North 7th Street, a residential area near Branch Brook Park where he lived. Toledo, a Black/African American male and a father of four, was approached by an unidentified male and shot multiple times. He was pronounced dead at the scene shortly after 1:25 p.m.
