Iquan Malik McClain, a 23-year-old resident of Newport News, Virginia, tragically lost his life on December 15, 2018, in Hampton, Virginia. McClain was found with multiple gunshot wounds in the parking lot of a Family Dollar store located in the 900 block of Aberdeen Road. Despite being rushed to the hospital, he succumbed to his injuries on the way. The incident was not considered a random act of violence; investigators believed that McClain knew his assailants.
