On December 6, 2014, Arlington County Police conducted a welfare check at an apartment in the 1200 block of North Kensington Street in the Westover neighborhood of Arlington, Virginia. Inside, they discovered the bodies of 31-year-old Kristy A. Flowers and her boyfriend, 29-year-old Ray Savoy Jr. Investigators determined that Savoy had fatally shot Flowers before taking his own life in an apparent murder-suicide.
