In the late summer of 2014, the community of Newport News, Virginia, was shaken by the violent and untimely death of 16-year-old Bryant Maurice Wilder Jr. A lifelong resident of the city and a rising junior at Warwick High School, he was known for his love of music, fishing, and skateboarding.
