On January 3, 2006, at approximately 8:30 am, a report of gunfire near the intersection of Old Virginia Beach Road and Barberton Drive in Virginia Beach, VA, was received by the local 9-1-1 dispatch. Upon arrival, police officers discovered the body of Shawn Gary John, a 34-year-old resident of the area, lying in the roadway, bleeding from a gunshot wound.
