On the afternoon of December 31, 2022, Sean Anthony McNellye, a 25-year-old Black male, was found shot to death in Indianapolis, Indiana. The Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department responded to a call of a person shot shortly after 1 p.m. at the Lake Castleton Apartments on the city's northeast side. Upon arrival, they discovered McNellye's body between two apartment buildings. His death was the last homicide recorded in Indianapolis for the year 2022.
