A young woman's dismembered remains are found in a creek bed in rural Illinois
Kimberly Mabry, aged 26, was found dead on April 14, 1995, in a remote area near Coleta, Whiteside County, Illinois. Her dismembered body was discovered in a creek by three teenage boys walking along Little Spring Creek. Kimberly was last seen alive in September 1994 in Rockford, Illinois, before her remains were found months later. Authorities indicated that her body was deliberately dismembered, likely to make identification more difficult, which delayed the investigation considerably.
