In the early morning hours of July 31, 2021, a fatal encounter in an Indianapolis apartment complex parking lot cut short the life of 24-year-old Kane Lemeul Baca. A male, Baca and his girlfriend were in her apartment when Corey Mirabal arrived at the front door. Baca went outside to speak with Mirabal, and shortly after, the sound of multiple gunshots pierced the quiet of the morning.
