In the early morning hours of September 17, 2016, a burst of violence on the northwest side of Indianapolis tragically cut short the life of 23-year-old Derrius A. Brandon. An African-American male, Brandon was discovered in a parking lot around 1:30 a.m., suffering from a gunshot wound. He was one of three individuals shot during a series of violent events that shattered the predawn quiet of the neighborhood.
