James Clark, a 19-year-old Black man, died on December 2, 2016, after violence found him on a Gary street in the middle of an ordinary afternoon. Police were sent to the 4200 block of Kentucky Street around 12:10 p.m. on a report of shots fired, and when officers arrived, they found him near the street suffering from multiple gunshot wounds.
