In the early morning hours of a December day in Saint-Louis, Missouri, a routine stop at a gas station turned into a scene of tragedy. Carlos Morton, a 43-year-old man, was at the BP gas station located in the 1400 block of Chouteau Avenue when violence erupted. Just before 6:15 a.m. on December 12, 2022, Morton was shot and killed on the parking lot of the establishment.
