On July 26, 2022, the body of David Harris, a 53-year-old Black male, was discovered in his apartment in southeast San Diego, California. Neighbors had reported a foul odor emanating from his residence, prompting the apartment manager to investigate. Upon entering the apartment, the manager found Harris lying on the floor next to the couch in the living room. It was immediately apparent that he was deceased, and there were signs of decomposition present.
