On November 28, 2024, San Diego authorities were alerted to the case of an unclaimed person, identified as Michael Brett Kelsey. Found in San Diego, California, Kelsey was a 55-year-old White male who had been experiencing homelessness at the time of his death. In the early hours of that morning, he was transported to Scripps Mercy Hospital by ambulance. Despite efforts by the medical team, his condition deteriorated, and he was pronounced dead later that day.
