On January 7, 2026, the body of an 80-year-old male, identified as Charles Eugene Raye, was discovered in a tent at Henry Cowell State Park in Santa Cruz, California. The decedent has been documented under NamUs ID UCP155972. Despite efforts by the Santa Cruz County Sheriff's Office- Coroner Division, no next of kin have been successfully contacted to claim Mr. Raye's body or to manage his affairs posthumously.
