On the morning of March 15, 2020, Steven Robert James, a 72-year-old Caucasian male, was discovered deceased in his San Diego apartment. Living alone, James had not been seen for approximately two days, prompting concern from the property manager. When knocking elicited no response, the manager used a key to enter the secured apartment, only to find James lying supine on the floor, unresponsive and without signs of breathing.
