A hiker looking for antlers in rural Mescalero found a skull. BIA requested for a local anthropologist review it. The anthropologist noted fillings in the teeth ruling it out as ancient. 15-20 other small bones were found as well. It is unknown if the remains may have come from a burial site or an old cemetery.
