On the morning of October 15, 2011, 53-year-old Kon Wai Young embarked on a solo fishing trip from the Maunalua Bay boat ramp in Hawaii Kai, Oahu. Piloting his 19-foot green and white vessel, Young, a seasoned fisherman, was expected to return by sunset. When he failed to do so, his family grew concerned and went to the boat ramp, where they found his vehicle and empty trailer but no sign of Young or his boat.
Upon receiving the missing person report, the U.S. Coast Guard and the Honolulu Fire Department initiated a comprehensive search operation. Utilizing assets such as the cutters Ahi and Kiska, HC-130 Hercules airplanes, and MH-65 Dolphin helicopters, the search spanned 18,536 square miles—an area three times the size of Hawaii Island. Despite these extensive efforts, no trace of Young or his vessel was found.
After several days of relentless searching, the Coast Guard suspended the operation on October 19, 2011, pending any new developments. The decision came after exhaustive efforts yielded no clues, leaving Young's family and the community without answers.
As of the latest updates, Kon Wai Young's case remains unsolved. He is listed in the National Missing and Unidentified Persons System (NamUs) under case number MP68660. His physical description at the time of disappearance was: Asian male, 5'10" tall, weighing 220 pounds, with brown hair and brown eyes. ...Read More

on Vanished at Sea: The Mysterious Disappearance of Cameron Booth Off Chincoteague's Coast
He was a criminal, an abuser, likely who didn't want to face justice of his actions and took his own life because he could not face the consequences of what he did. The victims have told the family his crimes, with evidence. The family knows he was arrested and convicted of possession of CSAM. They know who and what he was. And they're all so equally sick they live in comfort that the victims don't want to retraumatize themselves over everything he put them through. Dont support this families sick parade of using a monster to get sympathy. He was never ashamed of who he was. He loudly boasted his crimes and justified them. The family shouldn't sit there and pretend, how far from reality are they to sit and post this man publicly on news outlets, websites, knowing who he is. Do they need attention that badly? They don't want the attention from the truth. The victims will never get justice. Do not pray for him o
