In the summer of 2007, a family in Newport News, Virginia, was forever changed by the disappearance of 14-year-old Reina Alonso-Gonzalez. On July 29th, the teenage girl was last seen, and the circumstances surrounding her vanishing have remained a source of concern and unanswered questions. Reina is described as a Hispanic and White/Caucasian female with black hair and brown eyes. At the time she went missing, she was 5 feet 8 inches tall and weighed approximately 155 pounds. A distinguishing physical feature is a scar to the right of her forehead. The initial report suggested a troubling lead in her case from the very beginning. The investigation into Reina's disappearance brought forth information that she may have left her home with an adult male. This individual was known only by the name "Nicholas," and very little else was known about him. Authorities were also given a description of a vehicle that may have been involved. The vehicle was believed to be a late 1990s model Chevrolet Blazer, cream or gold in color. The Virginia license plate was not fully known, but the last four digits were possibly 1513. This limited information provided a starting point for law enforcement, but the identity of "Nicholas" and the full license plate number remained elusive, adding layers of difficulty to the search for the missing teen. Years have passed since Reina Alonso-Gonzalez was last seen, and her case has grown cold, leaving her family and community with a profound sense of loss and uncertainty. The initial report of her possibly leaving with an adult male named "Nicholas" remains the most significant lead in her case. Despite the passage of time, the hope for answers and for Reina's safe return has not completely faded. The overview of this case is one of a young life interrupted, a family left in limbo, and a community still searching for a resolution to a disappearance that has left a lasting impact.
