In the late summer of 2014, the life of 40-year-old Travis Bruce Murrow, a man known for his deep involvement in the Oklahoma rodeo circuit and his unwavering devotion to his four children, took a bewildering turn. On August 24, 2014, Travis was last seen at an acquaintance's home in Enid, Oklahoma. A father who reportedly spoke to his children multiple times a day, his sudden silence was the first sign that something was gravely wrong. That day, Travis had plans; he was reportedly on his way to either Oakwood or Selling to visit a former girlfriend, a trip he would never complete. The last known communication from him was a message sent around 10:00 p.m., letting a woman he was seeing know that he was in the Canton area. After that, his phone, bank accounts, and social media fell silent. A few days following his last communication, a discovery was made that deepened the mystery of his disappearance. Travis's Dodge Dakota pickup truck was found abandoned in a rural part of Dewey County, approximately four miles west of Canton Lake. The truck was locked, had run out of gas, and was parked about thirty feet off the road. Inside the vehicle, there were no signs of a struggle or foul play. However, his personal belongings, including his keys, cell phone, a pocket knife, and a bag of clothes, were missing. The location of the truck was puzzling, as it was not on a direct route to his intended destination. The investigation into Travis Murrow's disappearance has left his family with more questions than answers. Travis was a man with deep roots in the rodeo community and was well-known throughout the area. Despite his dedication to his children, his life was not without complications; there were outstanding warrants for his arrest at the time he went missing. However, his family does not believe he would have voluntarily walked away from his life, especially from his children. The Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation took over the case, but years have passed without any significant breakthroughs. The circumstances surrounding his last known hours, the unusual location of his abandoned truck, and the complete cessation of all communication have created a void of information, leaving his case unsolved and his loved ones waiting for a resolution.
