In the winter of 1987, 29-year-old Gail Northington, a mother of two, vanished from Ottawa Lake, Michigan, leaving behind a life fraught with marital turmoil. She was last seen on January 9, 1987. In the preceding weeks, Gail had sought refuge from a troubled marriage, moving with her infant son to her parents' home in nearby Erie.
