In the late summer of 1983, a young man named Richard 'Rick' Atwood, 25 years old, vanished from the White Cloud area of Michigan. He was last seen on August 10, 1983. When his girlfriend came back to the trailer they shared, she found him and his fishing gear gone. His family officially reported him missing on August 23 after their own searches proved fruitless.
