In the late afternoon of August 10, 2012, 34-year-old Justin Cobb, a heating and air technician from Broken Arrow, Oklahoma, completed his last service call in Tulsa and then seemingly vanished. He was last seen at approximately 4:30 p.m. at a Quickie Mart, which was a skateboard shop located in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Justin, a white male, stood at an imposing six feet four inches tall and weighed around 210 to 220 pounds. He had a distinctive appearance with a shaved, balding head of brown hair, and one hazel and one blue eye. A large cross was tattooed on his back. On the day he disappeared, he had expressed to a friend that he was in trouble, which the friend initially interpreted as him possibly suffering from heat exhaustion, a condition for which he had been hospitalized just two weeks prior. After grabbing a bottle of water and stating he was heading to the hospital, he drove off in his work van, leaving his personal vehicle at home. The days that followed his disappearance were filled with growing concern and a lack of any communication from Justin. His family and friends were left in a state of agonizing uncertainty. The first significant break in the case came five days after he was last seen, when his red Mullin Services work van was discovered by hunters in a remote, wooded area near Haskell in Okmulgee County. The discovery of the van, however, only deepened the mystery. Inside, authorities found his wallet, cell phone, a laptop computer, and other personal belongings seemingly untouched. Outside the vehicle, they found his clothing. Despite the unsettling scene, there were no immediate signs of a struggle. Law enforcement launched an extensive search of the rural area where the van was found. As many as 30 people at a time were involved in the effort, which included foot patrols, the use of ATVs, and aerial searches, but their efforts yielded no clues as to Justin's whereabouts. The Broken Arrow Police Department led the investigation, confirming that there had been no activity on his credit cards or bank account since the day he went missing. In the weeks that followed, an anonymous donor offered a $15,000 reward for information that could assist in locating him, should his disappearance be the result of criminal activity. Despite these efforts and the passage of time, the case grew cold, leaving his family with unanswered questions and an enduring sense of loss. The investigation into what happened to Justin Cobb remains open, a perplexing puzzle of a man who vanished, leaving behind only his belongings and a profound void in the lives of those who knew him.
