In the winter of 2012, a 48-year-old woman named April Alana McCaslin vanished from Tulsa, Oklahoma, leaving behind a life characterized by both athletic pursuits and personal challenges. The last known communication from April was a distressing phone call to her father on February 24, 2012, in which she stated that people were bothering her. Following that conversation, all contact with her ceased. At the time of her disappearance, April was living a transient lifestyle, moving between the homes of friends. This nomadic existence made it difficult for her family to know her exact whereabouts. April was a White female with blond hair and blue eyes, standing between 5'8" and 5'10" and weighing between 140 and 155 pounds. She was an avid jogger and marathon runner, known to frequent the River Parks area in Tulsa. It was also known that she contended with bipolar disorder and was without the medication needed to manage her condition. The investigation into April's disappearance was quickly met with a tragic and perplexing event. The man with whom April was believed to be staying at the time she went missing died by suicide before investigators had the chance to interview him, leaving a significant gap in the timeline and raising unanswered questions about any possible connection to her case. The few clues that surfaced in the months following her disappearance only deepened the mystery. Her active bank card was used in Okmulgee, Oklahoma on March 1, 2012, but there was no activity on it after that date. Later, a canceled card in her name was used in Tulsa on June 15, 2012. Several months after she was last heard from, a jogger discovered her bank card on a trail in LaFortune Park, a location consistent with her known passion for running. Authorities were unable to confirm if April was the person who used her card in the time after her last contact. While April had a history of making spontaneous trips to places as far-flung as Texas, Georgia, and even the United Kingdom, her family noted that these excursions were always accompanied by a financial trail from her bank and credit cards, and she had never been out of touch for such an extended period. This lack of communication and financial activity, coupled with the troubling final phone call to her father, has led her family to fear for her safety. The circumstances surrounding her case, including the death of a potential key witness and the sparse, ambiguous clues left behind, have left law enforcement with a case that has grown cold over the years. The disappearance of April McCaslin remains an unsolved case, a painful and lingering mystery for her loved ones and the Tulsa community.
