On April 15, 2007, a 20-year-old man named Jakeob "Jake" Daniel Pfluger disappeared in Sedro-Woolley, Washington. He was last seen that day swimming in the Skagit River. Jakeob, a white male with brown hair and hazel eyes, stood at approximately 5'9" and weighed around 150 pounds. At the time he went missing, he was wearing a black t-shirt and black pants. The last moments anyone saw of him were of him struggling in the water before he went under. Despite search efforts, his body was never found, and he is presumed to have drowned. The disappearance of Jakeob Pfluger is considered a tragic accident, and authorities do not suspect any foul play. He was known to be an avid outdoorsman and spent a great deal of time on the Skagit River. His family and friends remember him as a remarkable person with a strong faith. He was an active member of his church and was known for his love for his family, who he affectionately called "the Fam." He had a wide variety of interests that included John Wayne movies, Star Wars, and working on restoring a '69 Mustang. The absence of his remains has left his family and community without a sense of closure, and his case officially remains open. The Skagit County Sheriff's Office is the investigating agency, and they continue to ask for any information that might lead to answers. While it is believed that Jakeob drowned in a swimming accident, the fact that his body was never recovered leaves a lingering sense of uncertainty for those who knew and loved him. The case serves as a painful reminder of the river's power and the suddenness with which a life can be lost.
