On a seemingly ordinary morning in Glenpool, Oklahoma, twenty-four-year-old Tracy Michelle Samuels began her day by seeing her seven-year-old daughter off to school and then dropping her five-year-old son at his grandparents' house in nearby Jenks. It was February 17, 1993, and she told her mother she had a job interview, though she provided no details about the potential employer or the location of the meeting. Tracy, a resident of Glenpool where she lived with her husband and two children, was described by her parents as a responsible and devoted mother. Her daughter's eighth birthday was only a few days away, making her subsequent disappearance all the more baffling and heart-wrenching for her family. The last known sighting of Tracy occurred later that day in Tulsa. A witness saw her park her dark blue 1988 GMC extended cab pickup truck erratically, taking up multiple spaces, at the Cherry Hill apartment complex. She was then seen getting into a white GMC or Chevrolet flatbed pickup truck driven by an unidentified white male with brown hair, a mustache, and a baseball cap. The witness reported that Tracy appeared reluctant to enter the vehicle. The following day, her own truck was found abandoned at a different apartment complex in Tulsa. At the time of her disappearance, Tracy was reportedly carrying a significant amount of cash. She was last seen wearing a black down-filled jacket, blue jeans, and white roper-style cowboy boots. Years have passed since Tracy Samuels vanished, and her case has grown cold, though not forgotten. Foul play is suspected in her disappearance. The investigation has involved multiple agencies, including the Glenpool and Tulsa Police Departments, and due to her Native American heritage as an enrolled member of the Cherokee Nation, the Bureau of Indian Affairs has also taken jurisdiction. In 2012, a tip led the FBI and Tulsa Police to excavate a property in Tulsa where it was believed her remains might be buried, but a three-day search yielded no results. Despite the passage of time and the lack of answers, the investigation remains open. The unidentified man in the white flatbed truck has never been located, and the circumstances surrounding her claim of a job interview remain a mystery, leaving her family with unanswered questions about the day she disappeared.
