On a cold February morning in 2003, 28-year-old Michael "Mikey" Roy Richards was last seen in Woodland, Washington. It was around 7:00 a.m. on February 6th when he was spotted in the vicinity of the 600 block of Englert Road. He was on foot, wearing a blue T-shirt, blue jeans, and white athletic shoes, and carrying a distinctive blue and black backpack. Michael, a Caucasian male with blond hair and hazel eyes, had several distinguishing features, including a small scar on his nose and a broken upper left front tooth. He also had two tattoos: the name "Tonya" in black ink on the left side of his chest and a blue scorpion on his left bicep. His disappearance left his family with endless questions and a profound sense of loss, especially given the circumstances surrounding that period of their lives. At the time he went missing, Michael’s family, particularly his sister, was facing significant health challenges, and it was considered highly out of character for him to abandon them during such a difficult time. This has led his loved ones to suspect that he did not leave voluntarily and may have encountered foul play. Adding to the mystery is the fact that Michael's vehicle, a blue or gray mid-1980s Nissan 200SX, also vanished and has never been recovered. It is known that Michael had struggled with a methamphetamine addiction for about a decade, which his family believes may have put him in contact with dangerous individuals. Rumors have circulated that he may have met with harm at the hands of drug dealers. The investigation into Michael Richards' disappearance has spanned many years, yet it remains an unsolved and heart-wrenching case. Numerous searches and investigative efforts have been made, but they have not yielded any concrete answers about his whereabouts or what transpired on the day he was last seen. The Cowlitz County Sheriff's Office and the Woodland Police Department have been involved in the investigation, but without new leads, the case has grown cold. The absence of both Michael and his car has left a void in the lives of his family, who continue to hope for answers and closure. The circumstances of his disappearance, a young man last seen on foot but whose car is also missing, coupled with his personal struggles and his family's belief that he would not have willingly left, create a troubling overview of a life interrupted and a family left to grapple with uncertainty.
