Joseph David Smithey, 53, was last seen in late May 2021 at his home on Lehua Street in Mountain View on the Big Island of Hawaii. Family members reported that they had not heard from him since that time, and he has not been seen or heard from since. For reasons that have not been made public, Smithey was not officially reported as a missing person until late June 2021.
