On March 7, 2011, David Ristovski, a 32-year-old floor technician, left his home in Los Angeles, California. Two days later, on March 9, he made his last known contact, a phone call to his fiancée requesting money. At the time, Ristovski was traveling east on Interstate 10, and his white 1996 GMC Safari had run out of gas near milepost 384, close to the Arizona and New Mexico state line.
