Charles Gazzam Hurd, a 32-year-old man, vanished from Manhattan, New York, on February 18, 1937. At the time of his disappearance, he was the manager of the real estate and mortgage department for Dows Estates, Inc., located in the 10 block of Williams Street. Hurd, who was separated from his wife, was a member of a well-known New York family. He was residing at the Kenmore Hall Hotel at the time.
